Hanbat National University Held an inauguration Ceremony for the Centennial Commemoration Project Promotion Committee

□ 국립한밭대학교가 다가오는 2027년 개교 100주년을 앞두고 기념사업 준비를 위한 ‘개교 100주년 기념사업추진위원회(위원장: 염홍철 명예총장)'를 출범시키고, 이를 대내외에 알리는 출범식을 오는 23일 11시 교내 국제교류관에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.

□ Hanbat National University launched the Centennial Commemoration Project Promotion Committee (Chairperson: Honorary President Yeom Hong-chul) in preparation for its upcoming 100th anniversary in 2027, and held the official inauguration ceremony at 11:00 AM on the 23rd at the university’s International Affairs.

 ○ 이날 출범식에서는 지역 국회의원, 대학 총장, 경제단체장, 기업인 등 각 분야의 대표 50여 명을 ‘개교 100주년 기념사업추진위원회(이하 위원회)' 지역고문으로 위촉하여 국립대학 100주년 기념행사를 지역사회와 함께 추진하기로 했다.

 ○ At the ceremony, around 50 representatives from various sectors — including local lawmakers, university presidents, economic organization heads, and business leaders — were appointed as regional advisors to the Centennial Commemoration Project Promotion Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) to promote the centennial celebration of the national university with the local community.

□ 국립한밭대학교는 1927년 홍성공립공업전수학교를 시작으로 대전공업고등학교, 대전공업전문학교, 대전산업대학교 등을 거쳐 오늘에 이르렀으며, 오는 2027년 5월 20일 개교 100주년을 맞이하는 오랜 역사와 전통을 가진 지역의 국립대학교이다.

□ Hanbat National University, a regional national university with a long history and tradition that began in 1927 as Hongseong Public Industrial School and evolved through Daejeon Technical High School, Daejeon Technical College, and Daejeon Industrial University, will celebrate its 100th anniversary on May 20, 2027.

 ○ 위원회는 앞으로 ▲기념 조형물 건립 ▲100주년 기념행사 개최 ▲100년사 편찬 ▲발전기금 조성 등 다양한 기념사업을 기획하고 추진해 나갈 예정이다.

 ○ The Committee will plan and carry out various commemorative projects, including ▲ the construction of a memorial monument, ▲ the hosting of the 100th anniversary celebration events, ▲ the compilation of a centennial history book, and ▲ the establishment of a development fund.

□ 국립한밭대학교는 100주년을 단순히 과거의 기념을 넘어, 지나온 역사를 발판 삼아 미래 100년의 새로운 도약을 위한 토대로 삼고자 체계적으로 기념사업을 준비하고 있다.

□ Hanbat National University is systematically preparing commemorative projects that go beyond merely celebrating the past, aiming to use its history as a stepping stone and foundation for a new leap forward into the next 100 years.

 ○ 오용준 총장은 “개교 100주년은 우리 대학의 자랑스러운 역사를 되돌아보고, 다가올 100년을 위한 새로운 비전을 선포하는 중요한 전환점이 될 것”이라며, “위원회를 중심으로 모든 구성원과 동문, 지역사회가 함께 참여하고 공감하는 뜻깊은 기념사업을 만들어 나가겠다”고 했다.

 ○ President Oh Yong-jun stated, “The 100th anniversary of our founding will be an important turning point to reflect on our university’s proud history and to proclaim a new vision for the coming 100 years. Centered on the Committee, we will create meaningful commemorative projects that involve and sympathize with all members, alumni, and the local community.”

 ○ 또한, 염홍철 개교 100주년 기념사업 추진위원장은 “우리지역에서 국립대로서는 최초로 맞는 개교 100주년 기념사업이 성공적으로 추진될 수 있도록 모든 구성원과 동문, 지역사회의 지혜와 힘을 모아 나가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

 ○ In addition, Yeom Hong-chul, Chairperson of the Centennial Commemoration Project Promotion Committee, expressed his ambition by saying, "We will gather the wisdom and strength of all members, alumni, and the local community to promote this centennial project successfully — the first of its kind for a national university in our region."

 ○ 국립한밭대학교는 이번 100주년 기념사업이 대학의 정체성을 확인하고 위상을 더욱 높임과 동시에, 지역사회와 함께 발전하며, 미래 사회를 선도하는 대학으로 도약하기 위한 기반을 더욱 공고히 할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 ○ Hanbat National University expects that the upcoming centennial commemorative projects will reaffirm the university’s identity, enhance its stature, and further strengthen its foundation for advancing together with the local community and emerging as a leading institution in the future society.

□ 이번 출범식에는 오용준 총장을 비롯한 대학 학무위원, 위원회 위원, 동문과 지역의 각계 인사 등 150여 명이 참석할 예정이다.

□ Approximately 150 people are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony, including President Oh Yong-jun, university academic council members, committee members, alumni, and various figures from the local community.
